  • First of all don’t stress some things are just part of life however; there are a few tricks and techniques a barber has to disguise that type of flaw to make it less noticeable or not even noticeable at all. Fading certain areas to camouflage the darker areas from contrasting the lighter areas and not going to heavy on the definition of the outline gives you more of a natural look.

  • Yes of course but many have unknown side effects and unknown ingredients so through experience and trial and error my recommendation is getting a hair transplant if affordable to you as it is on the expensive side, there are some natural products that that can aid in hair recovery; Diplona is a natural oil product that I have recommended to a few clients and it either worked or left limited results with no side effects depending on the severity of the individual’s hair loss. Once again of course the final touches and detailing in a haircut can disguise hair loss.

  • Not as long as you don’t abuse it for example; if you have products in your hair 24/7 or rarely have a day product free, over a course of time yes that might so to speak.

  • Every 2-3 days for the average man depending how often your hair gets dirty or oily, the only side effect of washing too often like every day for example is dry scalp which can also depend on weather conditions. Cold weather can cause dry scalp so keeping your hair moisturized with conditioner, leave-in conditioners and natural oil products is a suggestion.

  • There are many good shampoos available it’s a trial and error process to find the best for your hair. Head&Shoulders is one to stay away from it causes and dandruff which is the opposite of the marketing selling point; of course there’s always exception to the rule but in general it is a hoax. Professional lines such as TreSemme and Pantene Pro-V are recommended and available at local pharmacies that used to be exclusively used at salons and barbershops however once a product is available to non-professionals it is dropped by Professionals in order to give an exclusive standard to what Professionals use. Every product we use in our establishment is also available for sale including shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner and many other styling and hair maintenance products.

  • Keep shaving as often as you can. Use a blade with shaving cream however; if you have sensitive skin and break out with razor bumps discontinue and stick to an electrical razor. None the less as long as facial hair is in your genes frequent shaving will cause facial hair to grow faster and thicker over time.

  • Shaving is trial and error for each individual. Generally shaving with gel foam and a triple or quadruple blade is safe especially with a good after shave liquid and lotion. Old School shaves with the straight razor are the classic traditional way of shaving and that service is available upon request. Frequency and how often you shave makes a difference so you’ll have to figure out if daily or closer to weekly is better for your skin. If razor bumps do breakout I recommend a product called Bump Patrol sensitive formula which is also recommended by dermatologists. This product is proven to remove bumps in 24-48 hours and also works as a great after shave balm to prevent bumps from breaking out. Bump Patrol is available for sale at our establishment. Nothing beats visiting the barber weekly and letting him worry about it.

  • You’ll have to visit you barber as often as your grooming requires and depending how efficient you are yourself. Sharp lines and outlining help define the shape and style, regular trimming and is required in order to preserve the style and precision is the key to a nice beard. If you have a thick heavy beard that you’re continuously growing comb it daily, use conditioner when you wash your hair and treat it with some natural oil and/or leave-in conditioner products.

  • Your hair needs consistent nourishing just like your body so conditioning your hair with hair products that use natural or vegetable oils is a great start. A visit to your stylist for a hair treatment every few months is recommended because at that time you can also get feedback on the condition of your hair and get the ends trimmed to prevent splitting and to remove the dead ends which allow the new growth to reach its full potential. Treatments with shea, cocoa, mayonnaise, egg are excellent for the hair and can be used at home but there’s nothing like having it massaged into your head by your stylist.

  • Hair products that use natural ingredients are most recommended because there are no side effects. Coconut oil, arghan oil, morrocan oil, carrot oil, olive oil or products with natural oil bases are great examples. They give the hair nourishment and prevent dry scalp and dandruff. Use these products when your hair is damp after washing it since hair absorbs better when already wet. There are some good leave-in conditioners and hair lotions that can also help depending on your hair texture one can be more effective than the other so ask your stylist for a recommendation. Salt water from the sea and heat from the equator are ideal for skin and hair so don’t be shy to treat yourself to a vacation it will do wonders in a week!

  • Keeping your hair healthy in general is the best suggestion. Hair grows about 1/2 inch – an inch per month on average so just keep it healthy and be patient, believe it or not but keeping the ends trimmed gives the new growth its best potential so trimming an inch every 4-6 months is also suggested.

  • As often as your hair gets oily or dirty depending on your hair texture. Thin straight hair should be washed every 2 days because sweat and dirt build up quicker where on the other hand black hair (afro) depending on the style only requires weekly or even bi-weekly. If you wash your hair too frequently it can cause dryness but if you don’t wash frequent enough your hair gets too greasy and oily yet there are oils that linger from your head naturally that are actually good for your hair so it’s a perfect balance through trial and error as you get to know your hair but once you find what works don’t change it. How you style your hair after washing it also makes a difference for example, if you’ll be blow drying and using a flat iron after every wash on a daily basis that will damage your hair. There are products that help resist damage to heat for hair but that won’t be enough. Wrapping the hairstyle with a bandana overnight can help with maintaining a style. Restyling the hair with flat irons and curling irons without rewashing is common however going from wet to tool dry daily is not recommended for hair. If a daily shampoo is required a hair bun, braids or letting it air dry in some rollers overnight is a recommended alternative for a nice style in the morning depending on your lifestyle.

  • Use sulphate, paraben and alcohol free shampoos. These strip moisture from your hair and cause dryness. Professional brand names available at retail stores are a safe choice. A consultation with your stylist can obtain the best result for you specifically depending on your hair texture and lifestyle.

  • Nothing just relax it is normal. In order for new hair to grow the old dead hair has to fall out so this happens when detangling and brushing out. The amount is always relative to someone’s tolerance before reacting but more or less unless your are losing patches of hair from your scalp you have nothing to worry about. If you start losing patches of hair from your scalp see your doctor immediately.
